A Good Way to "Charge your Batteries"

Last week I had the opportunity to spend several hours at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Most of those hours were spent in the Canadian and Indigenous Peoples gallery. There were so many pieces of art that just blew me away. The exquisite quill work, later beaded work made by people of eastern nations, and a tiny hat made by a person from British Columbia, from spruce root with a tiny white ermine attached to the peak. I really don't have words for this kind of thing - our adjectives fall so short.

Naturally I took a liking to a painting done by an artist who was identified as the "first woman travelling artist"! What I would give to see those territories the way she saw them.

There was so much to see, and perhaps I'll share another one with you later. In the meantime, I'd love to hear your comments!

Happy Painting!

Evelyn
