Progress is being made!
I thought I would send a photo of the painting of the big snow-covered pine tree that I wrote about after our last snowstorm. I am enjoying this, although I have a feeling that there will be changes made as I go along. I am thinking hard about the colors that could be under the tree, and also the final sky color. Stay tuned! I'd love to hear from you.

Large vs. Small - It Makes a Difference!
The Inspiration I woke up this morning to six inches of new snow. I wanted to get out for a walk with my camera really early before the sun was too strong. The boughs of the pine trees were laden with pristine snow; it reminded me of a painting by Tom Thomson, the first of the Canadian Group of Seven painters. Truth be told, I think of him every time I see snow on trees. My First Idea As I walked back home along the snowy road, I wondered if I could compose a painting that wo

If your view in your room included an image like this, can you think of a word or two that describes how it makes you feel? Someone once wrote this to me: "Your painting is the first thing I see when I come home from work at night. It brings me the pe

A Red Rose that will never die!
I'm delighted to say that "A Red, Red Rose" is flying out of the studio to her far-away new home. The prints will be signed and numbered, and shipped unframed. The size of the print is 10 x 14 3/4". Limited edition of 25, signed prints $95.00 includes tax and shipping

A very nice location!
My painting, "Color of Sky and Stone" (36 x 40") is hanging in the window of the Guild of Boston Artists gallery on Newbury Street in Boston. It is part of the New England Watercolor Society's Signature Members show. The exhibition will be open through March 6th. I would encourage all artists in the New England area and beyond to become associate members of the Society; it's a great opportunity to show your work, and the requirements for becoming a Signature Member can be fo
